When you decide to place your order, you will be asked
to indicate your preferences for several different components of the
card. Those preferences are described here, allowing you to think about
your choices before beginning the order process. You will also have the
opportunity to enter any special instructions.
When you place an order, you will be able to indicate
your choices and view a mock up of the card before giving your final
confirmation. You will then be asked for your payment information and
finally you will upload the artwork you want for the card. Learn
more about how to prepare your artwork for upload.
-
If you opt for a 1-sided card, both your image and textual information
will be on the front, the back will be blank.
If you choose a 2-sided card, your image may fill the front and your
information will be on the back.
-
Which orientation will fit your image better?
-
A 1/2 inch high area (1 inch high for portrait orientation) will
be reserved for your information. Do you want that area above or below
your image?
-
The information area may be white with black text, black with white
text or a color may be pulled from your image. If the color for the
text area is pulled from the image, the color of the text will be
black or white to give the most contrast.
-
For cards using portrait orientation, up to 6 lines of text will be
centered one under the other.
For cards using landscape orientation, up to 3 lines of text may
appear on the left edge of the card and up to 3 lines of text on
the right edge of the card.
You will be asked to supply the information (name, title, address,
phone, url, email, cell, etc) in the order that you want it to appear.
Give carefull thought to what information you want on your card.

- This is an example of a serif font.
This is an example of a sans serif font.
Note: Neither of the above fonts is the exact font that will be used
on the card, these are used here for illustration only, as they will
more readily show on any computer screen.
A) You may choose to have the image reduced in size
so it fits completely within the image area.
B) You may choose to have the image cropped, retaining the original
size, and show only what fits in the image area.
C) You may choose to have a combination of the above 2 methods, partially
resize the image, then crop it to showcase one area.
Note: Any method in which your
image fills the card right to the edge requires a minimum 1/8 inch
bleed. In other words, your image must stick out beyond the edges of
the card at least 1/8 inch. That extra 1/8 inch (or more) will be trimmed
off when the cards are cut. If your art completely fills the image
area, a small sliver (at least) will always be trimmed away.
These 3 methods are illustrated below:

A) Reduce entire image to fit in image area. This will
leave empty space around the image.
B) Keep the image full size and crop it to fill the
image area of the business card.
C) Resize and crop the image to focus on one area and fill
the business card.
